Keeping safe on social networks
Many of us may be spending more time online at the moment. For some children, this may mean spending more time on social networks to stay connected with friends. This series of eight posters about popular online social networking websites and apps has been designed in partnership with each of the industry platforms to provide simple information for parents and carers. The posters include guidance on features, how they are used and useful tips to ensure children and young people stay safe.

Keeping kids safe online webinar
The NSPCC and O2 are working in partnership to offer free sessions on keeping your family safe online. The 30min webinar will provide parents and carers with information on: Appeals and risks of the internet for children How to keep kids’ safe online Resources and support available for parents.
Always be careful when you are using the internet. It can help you to keep in touch with your friends and help your education – but it can also cause harm – to you and to others.
Remember help is always available at school if you are having any problems online.
Don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher or another adult at school.

Tips for staying safe online:
- Make sure you keep new online friends strictly online. If someone you don't know asks to be your online friend you must ensure an adult knows about it.
- Know how to use the CEOP Button and how to report it to the CEOP Centre if you are concerned about someone’s online behaviour towards you.
